Buying a barbecue for camping and outdoors

For many people, cooking outdoors is part of camping. With a compact barbecue you can easily prepare a meal at the campsite, on a day out or simply in the garden.

In our range you will find a folding charcoal barbecue and a fire bowl you can also use as a barbecue. Which suits you best depends mainly on where you are going to barbecue and how much room you have available.

Our barbecues are practical for outdoor use thanks to:

  • compact, sturdy constructions;
  • plenty of room to grill various dishes;
  • models that are easy to take along;
  • a practical set-up for campsite and garden;
  • sturdy materials suitable for high temperatures;
  • ways to store the barbecue compactly after use.

Which barbecue suits you?

First think about where you will mainly use the barbecue.

Are you taking it to the campsite, on a road trip or in the camper van? Then weight and ease of storage matter. A model you can fold flat takes up considerably less room among your other camping gear.

Do you have a bit more room at your pitch or in the garden? Then you can also choose a fire bowl. With that you can barbecue first and make a wood fire later in the evening.

A folding barbecue for the road

Our folding barbecue is handy when you are looking for a barbecue you can easily take along and store again.

Set up, the barbecue measures about 45 × 30 × 33 cm. The 44 × 32 cm grilling surface gives you plenty of room to prepare several ingredients at once.

Finished barbecuing? Then you fold the model back down to about 45 × 45 × 5 cm. Weighing roughly 3.2 kg and with a carrying handle, it is easy to take to your pitch.

The barbecue is made of alloy steel, is heat-resistant and has removable grill grates. That makes it easier to clean after use.

Do not use briquettes with this model. Choose fuel that is suitable for this charcoal barbecue.

Barbecue and fire bowl in one

Would you like to combine barbecuing with a cosy fire? Then you can choose our 55 cm fire bowl.

With the supplied grill grate you use the fire bowl as a barbecue. Finished eating? Then you can remove the grill grate and use the bowl for a wood fire.

The fire bowl has a diameter of 55 cm and is made of steel with a heat-resistant coating. You assemble it in three steps.

You get, among other things:

  • a fire bowl;
  • a storage bag;
  • a fire poker;
  • a grate;
  • a grill grate;
  • two grill handles.

That way you have the main parts together straight away to cook outdoors and enjoy the fire later in the evening.

A compact barbecue for the campsite

At the campsite the available room is often limited. Certainly when you travel with a tent or a smaller car, you want to avoid your barbecue taking up a large part of your luggage space.

Our folding barbecue is then a practical choice. After use you fold it back down to just 5 cm thick, so you can easily store it among other camping gear.

Do you have a bit more room and want to combine barbecuing with a fire? Then the fire bowl gives you more options.

What do you take to barbecue?

A barbecue alone is not enough. Certainly when you go camping, it is handy to check in advance that you have everything you need to cook safely.

Think for example of:

  • suitable fuel for your barbecue;
  • a lighter;
  • barbecue tools;
  • heat-resistant gloves;
  • crockery and cutlery;
  • things to clean the grate with;
  • water to keep to hand.

That way you will not have to go looking for things you forgot at home once you are at your pitch.

To light your barbecue you can also take a look at our lighters.

Barbecuing safely at the campsite

Always put your barbecue on a firm, level surface. Keep plenty of distance from your tent, dry grass and other flammable materials.

Do not leave the barbecue unattended while in use. Do not move it either while the steel, the charcoal or the wood is still hot.

Using the fire bowl for a wood fire? Then bear in mind sparks and wind. Also check in advance whether open fires are allowed at your campsite or location.

Let everything cool down completely after use before you clean and store the barbecue.
